FAQs

How many paper towels do I need?

This will depend on factors like the size of your establishment, the number of people using paper towels, how many toilet facilities you have (if you’ll be using paper towels here) and so on.

At Smudge & Dribble, we stock paper hand towels in varying quantities across our range, including 2400, 3000 and even 5000 paper towels per pack. So no matter how many you’re in the market for, we’ll always have more than enough to meet your requirements.

Do I need paper towel dispensers?

Technically, no. If you wish, our paper hand towels can simply be stacked (e.g. on a worktop, inside a cupboard, in your toilet facilities etc.) and used one by one – just by taking the next towel from the top.

However, dispensers can be useful for numerous reasons:

They’re quick and easy to use
They prevent too many paper towels from spilling out of the pack and going to waste
Typically wall-mounted, they offer a way to store paper towels neatly
They keep towels dry and free from contamination
They’re a much more hygienic option, particularly if used in a bathroom

As such, they can be a worthwhile investment for preschool and childcare establishments.

What’s the difference between 1-ply, 2-ply and 3-ply paper towels?

Often associated with toilet paper – the word ‘ply’ simply refers to the number of layers or sheets of paper that have been compressed together to create the paper towel.

In the case of 1-ply, each towel is comprised of a single layer, so they’re relatively thin and are best left to minor spills and hand drying. Whereas – made from two and three layers, respectively – 2-ply and 3-ply paper towels are slightly thicker. And as a result, they demonstrate greater strength and absorbency and can tackle larger volumes of liquid with ease.
